no apology necessary.

Yesterday's Family Home Evening lesson totally backfired on me. We were discussing the Who-What-Where-Why-and-How of baptism with a little game of Baptism Jeopardy. Halle got the question, "Why are you baptized when you are eight? Why not at a different age?" We talked about eight being the age of accountability. When she didn't quite understand, I said, "Up until now, if you've made a mistake, Heavenly Father has automatically forgiven you because you were young enough you didn't know better. But now you're turning eight, and the Lord feels you know enough that you should be making good choices. He'll still forgive you, but you've got to repent and say you're sorry first." About an hour later, while the kids were upstairs goofing around, Wyatt must have done something naughty and Halle must have told him he needed to apologize. I heard him brag in a snobby voice,
"I don't have to say I'm sorry.
I haven't been baptized yet!"

Oh, brother!

Grandma told me about this. Too funny! Don't you love when your own words turn on you?

That made me laugh, but they are learning and that's all that matters.
